CARICOM, ILO conducting labour market analysis to shape regional migration policy

The International Labour Organization (ILO), in collaboration with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, launched the consultancy: Free Movement of Persons in the CARICOM Region: Undertaking Labour Market Analysis in the Region to inform the development of a comprehensive labour migration policy for the region.

The Hon. Dickon Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada, wants the Region to collaborate boldly, innovate fearlessly, and act accountably to take advantage of the digital revolution, and accelerate regional integration.

Prime Minister Mitchell, Chair of CARICOM, and lead Head of Government with responsibility for Science and Technology in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet, made the call while delivering the keynote address at the Connected Caribbean Summit in Miami, Florida, 10 December.

Grenada Prime Minister to chair Special COTED on ICT

Chair of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM and Prime Minister of Grenada, the Hon. Dickon Mitchell, will preside over the 111th Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) on 5 December 2024, which will focus on Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

University of Guyana students tour Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation Plant at CARICOM Secretariat

Students from the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the  University of Guyana toured the CARICOM Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation Plant on the grounds of the CARICOM Secretariat on Friday, 8 November.

The group was the first of four cohorts of tertiary-level students who will tour the Secretariat each Friday in November as part of the activities to observe CARICOM Energy Month 2024.

Grenada Welcomes Support from the UK and CCCCC to Increase Access to Climate Finance and Response to Climate Change

The Ministry of Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy welcomes support from the United Kingdom (UK) Government and the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) to equip more than 25 technical officers and sectoral experts to develop bankable climate projects to increase the country’s access to climate finance and improve its response to climate change.  

CARICOM Development Fund Provides initial US$100,000 cash contribution to Hurricane Beryl Recovery Efforts in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Bridgetown, Barbados – September 10, 2024 – The CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) has made a cash contribution of US$100,000 or approximately EC$270,000 from its  Emergency Disaster Assistance Facility (EDAF) to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to assist in recovery efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl on July 1, 2024.
