C-SERMS Resource Mobilisation Meeting in Barbados

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Caribbean Community (CARICOM) stakeholders in the field of energy, as well as International Development Partners that are active in the regional energy sector will gather in Barbados 11 July, 2013, to discuss initiatives and activities identified as part of the Caribbean Sustainable Energy Roadmap and Strategy (C-SERMS) Phase 1 Study.

Regional Creativity for Employment and Business Opportunity (CEBO) to be introduced in Guyana

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     A number of Guyanese youth interested in starting their own businesses will soon be benefitting from entrepreneurial workshops and seminars hosted through the regional Creativity for Employment and Business Opportunity (CEBO).  The programme will start with a training of trainers workshop Monday October 21- Thursday October 24.

PANCAP PARTNERS MEET TO STRENGTHEN CARIBBEAN AIDS RESPONSE

Assistant Secretary-General underscores importance of statistics to CARICOM

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Ambassador Colin Granderson, Assistant Secretary-General, Foreign and Community Relations Directorate at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, on Tuesday said statistics played a vital role in the Community because “it is crucial in providing data for evidence-based policies that can guide and monitor progress at the country and regional levels.”

Statistics has been playing a significant part in the evolution of our Community through the provision of data based upon which decisions could be guided.  It is a happy coincidence that such an important element of the Region’s social and economic life, is celebrating the International Year of Statistics in the same year of the Community’s 40th Anniversary.
