Antigua/Barbuda to host major CARICOM Development Forum

“CARICOM Overcoming Challenges: Pathway to Development”. That is the focus of a major regional forum to be held in Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday 23 June 2015.

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Brown will be among the Forum’s list of high level presenters, drawn from the Caribbean Community, the EU Delegation to the Eastern Caribbean and Barbados, Caribbean Export Development Agency, the Organisation of American States and the Caribbean Court of Justice.

The presenters will share their insights in five thematic areas:

Region to get new funding from the European Union

This amount represents more than a doubling of the funds that were available in previous years (€165 million euros).

The signing took place on the occasion of the 2nd Summit of the European Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (EU-CELAC), and the EU-CARIFORUM High Level Event,  11-12 June in Brussels.

I have the honour  to speak on behalf of the fourteen member states of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), at this plenary meeting to review the implementation of the Declaration of Commitment on HIV/AIDS and the Political Declarations on HIV/AIDS.

 

I would like to use this opportunity to express appreciation to the Secretary-General for his report contained in document A/69/856.

 

CARICOM Secretariat celebrates World Environment Day 2015

As the Region celebrates World Environment Day 2015, the CARICOM Secretariat is conscious of issues related to the environment and agriculture, particularly sustaining the environment to ensure food and nutrition security for this and future generations. CARICOM Secretary-General mourns death of ‘outstanding’ son of Dominica

CARICOM Committee of Ambassadors to connect national, Regional agendas
