As the world celebrates World Consumer Rights Day 2024, we must reflect on the evolving landscape of consumer rights, especially in artificial intelligence (AI). In a world increasingly driven by data and algorithms, ensuring fair and responsible AI for consumers has become a pressing concern.
The CARICOM Secretariat co-facilitated a workshop in Grenada on 12 March that was aimed at helping to create legal frameworks and institutional guidelines to implement the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) of Wild Fauna and Flora. The CITES of Wild Fauna and Flora programme aims to safeguard endangered animals and plants from harmful international trade, thus ensuring their survival.

Monday, 20 November 2023 (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown): Ministers responsible for gender affairs and equality from CARICOM Member States and Associate Members are currently reviewing the draft CARICOM Gender Equality Strategy, “Stepping It Up: A Strategy to Achieve Gender Equality in the Caribbean Community”, during the Forty-Sixth Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) – Gender. The Meeting, which is being convened on 20-21 November 2023 in Barbados, reaffirms Member States
At the kind invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Leadership of Saudi Arabia and the Leaders of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) met in Riyadh, on 16 November 2023 for the inaugural Saudi Arabia-CARICOM Summit.
