BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, FEBRUARY 22ND 2014 (CUOPM) - The Government and people of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis have expressed congratulations to the Government and citizens of St. Lucia on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of Independence.
“I pray that our mutual friendship which is based on a shared heritage and commitment to freedom, peace and the rule of law continues to grow and blossom. As we commemorate your nation’s freedom from colonial rule, we continue to admire your thirty five years of prosperity,” said St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas in a message to his St. Lucia counterpart, Dr. the Hon. Kenny Anthony.
Dr. Douglas expressed confidence that while reflecting on the past, the citizens of St. Lucia will make a concerted effort to create a climate conducive to economic and social development for the benefit of present and future generations.
“As partners in this great project that we call the OECS, we must continue to highlight the benefits that all citizens can achieve through our regional framework,” added Prime Minister Douglas.
