St. John’s Antigua- National Security Minister Dr Errol Cort has suggested Regional Security Systems (RSS) member states pool resources to strengthen the RSS Air Wing to help clamp down on the burgeoning drug trade and influx of guns into the region. He told OBSERVER media, “I don’t believe that it would be useful at this point for individual RSS countries to try setting up their own aircraft capacity. This is a very expensive thing, so we need to pool our efforts so we could expand the RSS Air Wing that we can give more concentrated cover to respective countries in terms of surveillance.” Dr Cort, the former RSS chairman, noted that the seven RSS member states have significantly benefited from the services rendered by the Air Wing based in Barbados, in respect of counter-narcotics surveillance.
