This presentation outlines CARICOM’s emergency response strategy and action plan for the agriculture sector, with a particular focus on strengthening resilience among youth farmers through climate-smart tools and disaster preparedness measures. It explains the regional framework for coordinated agricultural assistance after disasters, including governance arrangements, key stakeholder roles, and tools for assessing damage, loss, recovery, and rehabilitation needs across crops, livestock, fisheries, and forestry. It also highlights practical on-farm actions before, during, and after disasters, such as farm planning, drainage, insurance, building protection, safeguarding equipment and livestock, and conducting post-disaster assessments.
