Economic Development Policy, Tax Administration and Research (EDPR)
The Economic Development Policy, Tax Administration and Research (EDPTA&R) Programme of the CARICOM Secretariat is responsible for coordinating the regional macro-economic policy agenda, supporting financial market integration, strengthening tax administration, leading regional economic research and advocacy, and providing technical advice to facilitate the functioning of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).
Key areas of focus of the EDPTA&R Programme are:
Macro-economic Policy Coordination: Harmonising policies across Member States to foster economic stability and regional integration.
Financial Sector Modernisation: Developing frameworks to support the deepening of financial integration and interoperable cross-border payment systems.
Tax Cooperation: Promoting tax collection efficiency, and broadened tax base and capacity-building initiatives in the tax administrations of Member States.
Strategic Planning: Leading research and aligning economic policies with the 2022-2030 Strategic Plan to build economic resilience and transformation across Member States.
To coordinate macroeconomic policies and enhance tax administration efficiency across the region.
A stable and harmonized regional economic environment that attracts investment and ensures fiscal sustainability.
