The Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will meet in Barbados on October 24-25 for a two-day Ministerial retreat. The Retreat will provide an opportunity for Foreign Ministers to discuss foreign policy issues in the international system and the impact of significant Regional and global events.

"Profound changes are taking place and new challenges arising in the international environment and CARICOM needs to review their impact on the foreign policies of the Member States of the Region," Assistant Secretary-General Colin Granderson points out. "We also need to factor in the repercussions of major events and developments in our Region."

The COFCOR will meet under the Chairmanship of Hon. Dame Billie Miller, Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Barbados and Chairman of the COFCOR, and will review the Community's strategy and mechanisms for the coordination of the foreign policies of the Member States.
