Youth Advocacy Programme on Statistics launched

A programme to engage and empower youth to become advocates for data-driven decision-making, YSTAT, was launched during the Fourth High-Level Advocacy Forum on Statistics (HLF) in Placencia, Belize, 4 November 2024.

The programme is one of the activities to mark CARICOM Year of Statistics which also was launched during the opening ceremony of the HLF on 4 November.

YSTAT seeks to harness the enthusiasm, creativity, and energy of young people to promote statistical literacy, raise awareness about the importance of data, and drive positive change in their communities. The 10-month comprehensive Youth Statistics Ambassadorship is designed for youth between the ages of 15 and 29 from CARICOM Member States and Associate Members who have an interest in statistics, data science, community development, and leadership.
