Special COTED Meeting Discusses Transportation Matters

Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ministers with responsibility for Transportation, met on Thursday, 6 June for a special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development that dealt with transportation matters.

Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Lead for Transportation in the CARICOM Quasi-Cabinet, chaired the half-day, virtual meeting that saw the participation of the Hon. Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda; CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett; and Assistant Secretary-General, Joseph Cox. Also in attendance were senior officers of the Secretariat; representatives of CARICOM Institutions and international transportation organisations, and other stakeholders.

The operationalisation of the CARICOM Multilateral Air Services Agreement (MASA) and developments in air and sea transportation in the Region, were among the matters that were discussed.
