(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) As the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) moves into its fortieth year of existence, CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, has shared his vision for the advancement of the regional integration movement placing the Caribbean’s people at its core. In the December 2012 edition of the CARICOM View Magazine now published online at www.caricom.org  the Secretary-General reflects on his tenure in office so far, pointing out that he considers what he does as a “calling”.

The Magazine takes a walk down memory lane with former Secretaries-General and staff members of the CARICOM Secretariat who share their views on Colgrain House, a historic wooden edifice in Georgetown that holds great significance for the Community.

The CARICOM View Magazine features an article on CARICOM Secretariat’s General Counsel, Ms. Safiya Ali, who was appointed to that position in May 2012, and places the spotlight on agri-business entrepreneur Ms. Rosie McMaster of Antigua and Barbuda, who is well known region-wide for her condiments marketed under the Susie’s Hot Sauce brand.

With the phenomenal achievement the Community recorded in the area of sport last year, the Magazine focuses on how the Region’s sport potential could be realized.
