(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) His Excellency Michel Joseph Martelly, the President of Haiti will pay an official visit to the CARICOM Secretariat from 20-22 March 2013.

President Martelly will hold discussions with CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and his Executive Management team on Thursday 21 March at the Secretariat’s Turkeyen, Guyana headquarters. On that day he will also meet with the staff of the Secretariat.

The President, who will be accompanied by the Honourable Pierre Richard Casimir, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Honourable Wilson Laleau, Minister of Trade and Industry, will also hold discussions with His Excellency Donald Ramotar, President of Guyana and his Cabinet.

President Martelly WHO WAS ELECTED President of Haiti in 2011, assumed the chairmanship of CARICOM on 1 January 2013 and will serve in that capacity until 30 June 2013.
