BOOKS OF CONDOLENCE FOR FORMER CARICOM SECRETARIES-GENERAL

As a mark of respect for the death of former Secretaries-General the Hon. William Demas TC, OCC and Dr Kurleigh King, GCM, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat will open Books of Condolence for signing on Wednesday December 2, 1998 at its Headquarters at the Bank of Guyana Building.

The books will be open from 10 a.m to 4 p.m on Wednesday and also from 10 a.m to 4 p.m on Thursday December 3, 1998.

Dr King passed away in the United States on Friday while Mr Demas died on Saturday night in Trinidad. Dr King's funeral has already taken place and Mr Demas will be accorded a state funeral on Monday December 7, 1998 in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Secretariat will also be organising a Thanksgiving Service for the deceased at the St. George's Cathedral on Friday December 4, 1998 from 9.30 a.m. Further details of the service will be announced.
