KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent, CMC – Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says the local economy has shown slight improvement during the first three months of this year , but that preliminary figures show a “deterioration” in April.
“On the face of it, for the first three months, we have an improvement in the fiscal situation. But, I have seen the preliminary numbers, which have not been confirmed to me yet in relation to April and I see a deterioration in April.
“Of course, those who are familiar with the government finances (know) while it is important to keep your monthly tracks, sometimes (there are) some reportage issues and so on and so forth,” Gonsalves told legislators, as he responded to a question from Opposition Leader, Arnhim Eustace.
