MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica, CMC - Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller is calling on members of the Jamaican Diaspora to invest in the country saying also that foreign investors have shown their confidence by investing in mega projects here.
“Along with our Diaspora, we need our international partners, and we will continue to invite foreign investments. Belgian-registered companies have invested in our transport sector; the French, in our road network infrastructure; the Spanish, in expanding our tourism industry, and the Chinese, in sugar cane manufacturing, bridges and other infrastructural developments. All these are welcome,” she told the 5th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference that ends on Wednesday.
