ROSEAU, Dominica, CMC – The Dominica government says it will continue to seek assistance to finance the exploration of developing the island’s geothermal energy
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said his administration has invested an estimated EC$67.7 million (One EC dollar = US$0.37 cents) in the venture so far.
“These investments have allowed government to establish that the geothermal resource of the Roseau Valley is of excellent quality and is available in sufficient quantity to generate in excess of 120 megawatts of electricity. There is reason to believe that we are beginning to reap the benefits of using this approach,” he told legislators.
