Vincentian and Jamaican Athletes take CARICOM 10K Titles

Vincentian Athlete Linda McDowald copped her 2nd title in the women’s leg of the annual CARICOM 10K Race in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Saturday with a winning time of 39 mins 50 secs.  This was slightly slower than the 37:57 run for her first title in 2016 in Guyana.

Second place in Saturday’s race went to Grenadian Kenisha Pascal who crossed the finish line in 40:21 while 3rd place went to Carlie Pipe of Barbados in 46:12.

Jamaica took the top two places in the men’s leg of the event. Dwayne Graham  won in a time of 34:15 and Oshane Archibald took second place in 34:19.

Vincentian Junior Ashton copped the third spot in 35:54 while his compatriot and former event winner Pamenos Ballantyne had to settle for 4th in 37:40.

The CARICOM 10K and its companion 5K are associate events of the 39th CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting held in Montego Bay, Jamaica, 4-6 July 2018.
