And now, Jose!

Jan 09, 2026

Even as residents in the Leeward Islands brace form the potentially catastrophic Hurricane Irma, they are also being urged to keep an eye on another weather system – Tropical Storm Jose.

At midday Tuesday, Jose was located near latitude 12.3 North, longitude 39.1 West, and moving towards the west-northwest at 13 miles (20 km) per hour.  The Maximum sustained winds are near 40 miles (65 km) per hour and Jose should become a hurricane by Friday.

No Warnings or Watches have been issued but residents of the Leewards have been urged to monitor Jose’s progress.
