Barbados Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Freundel Stuart will leave the island today, Wednesday, September 9, to tour the areas in Dominica hardest hit by Tropical Storm Erika.
Prime Minister. Stuart, who is also Chairman of CARICOM, will be accompanied by Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force, Colonel Alvin Quintyne; and Executive Director of the Regional Security System (RSS), Grantley Prescod.
The Prime Minister will be met on arrival by Prime Minister of Dominca, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit; CARICOM Secretary General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque; Commander Aquinas Clarke of the RSS; representatives of Dominica’s Emergency Disaster Response Agency and other officials.
Following an aerial and land tour of the affected areas, Mr. Stuart will also take the opportunity to meet with the Barbadian troops assisting with relief efforts in Dominica. On arrival in Barbados on Wednesday night, the Prime Minister will hold a press briefing in the Grace Adams Suite of the Grantley Adams International Airport, at 8:15 p.m.
