Apr 13, 2015

The historic Organization of American States Seventh Summit of the Americas, April 10- 12, 2015 has concluded with Prime Minister of The Bahamas and Chairman of CARICOM the Rt. Hon. Perry Christie having addressed the second plenary session. The summit was historic because of Cuba’s presence for the first time.

The host, President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez told delegates at the conclusion of the summit on Saturday, that 42 out of 48 mandates were agreed on, while the others were left to be considered by a small number of countries.
“There was, however, complete agreement in recognizing that the right to education without discrimination and equitable access to a quality education are essential to the effort to achieve integral development, eradicating poverty and inequality,” said Varela in the Summit Declaration
