The finalists in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secondary Schools Debating Competition, highlight activity for the 25th Anniversary of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will be announced tomorrow Friday 26 February 1999.
Two semi finals will take place simultaneously in Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago. The host countries will face St. Kitts and Nevis and The Bahamas respectively. In Dominica, the competition will take place at the Arawak House of Culture in Roseau while in Trinidad and Tobago, it will take place at the San Fernando Technical Institute.
The finalists will face each other on Wednesday 3 March 1999 in Paramaribo, Suriname, one day before the opening of the 10th Inter-sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community.
The regional debating Competition is the final event in the programme of activities to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Chaguaramas, the Treaty which established the Caribbean Community.
