Foreign affairs officials advanced preparations for ministerial talks in Dominica

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Georgetown, Guyana) - Senior foreign affairs officials met via video conference anchored at the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat on April 29-30 to review and finalise the foreign policy matters that will be placed on the agenda of the 27th Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) scheduled for 23-24 May in Roseau, Dominica.

Statement from the Caribbean Community Council of Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) on the Escalating Middle East Conflict

The Caribbean Community Council of Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) views with grave concern the escalating violence in the Middle East, particularly the recent direct military engagements between Israel and Iran. These developments not only exacerbate the already tense situation but also pose significant threats to regional stability and international peace.

CARICOM deplores threatened economic boycott of The Bahamas

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on Friday said it deplored the threatened economic boycott of The Bahamas and attacks on that country’s economic interests in Florida by interest groups based in Miami.

I wish to thank the Government and People of Grenada for their warm hospitality and join my colleagues in echoing appreciation for being in Grenada today among great company.  As we gather on the eve of the Fourth CARICOM-Cuba Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, there are several events that are occurring at the national, regional, hemispheric, and global levels that are guaranteed to usher in changes that will require our countries to adapt to the ever evolving geopolitical environment.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL PLANS FOR CARICOM SUMMIT

  (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Eighteenth Meeting of the Caribbean Community Council of Ministers will take place on Friday 19 May in Georgetown, Guyana. The Council is expected to consider the agenda and arrangements for the Twenty-Seventh Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM slated for 3-6 July in St Kitts and Nevis.
