CARICOM DSG, IDB GM discuss scope for closer cooperation

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat and the Inter-American Development Bank’s (IDB) Caribbean Group recently discussed the scope for closer cooperation between the two organisations when Deputy Secretary-General, Dr. Armstrong Alexis welcomed the General Manager of the Bank’s Caribbean Group, Mr. Anton Edwards, for a courtesy call.

CDB Supporting Regional Education Transformation with Key Initiatives

GEORGE TOWN, Cayman: The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has announced a series of key initiatives aimed at reshaping education systems across the region, as outlined by Acting President, Mr. Isaac Solomon at the Bank’s inaugural Regional Symposium and Policy Dialogue on Transforming Education currently underway in George Town, Cayman.   

Statement from the Commonwealth Secretary-General on the passing of Sir Shridath Ramphal

In marking the passing of Sir Shridath Ramphal, the second Commonwealth Secretary-General, who served from 1975 -1990, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, the Commonwealth Secretary-General, said: 

It is with the greatest sorrow that we mourn the passing of Sir Shridath "Sonny" Ramphal. He was a giant of the Caribbean and one of the Commonwealth’s brightest lights.
