Project “Strategic Platform to Accelerate Sustainable Energy Technology Innovation, Industry Development and Entrepreneurship in Barbados”
The Ministry of Industry, International Business,
Commerce and Small Business Development (MIICS), the Caribbean Centre
for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) and the United
Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is developing
the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Project “Strategic Platform to
Accelerate Sustainable Energy Technology Innovation, Industry
Development and Entrepreneurship in Barbados”.
The overall
objective of the project is to strengthen domestic value creation along
the different segments of the renewable energy and energy efficiency
value chain (manufacturing and distribution, project planning and
development, construction and installation, and operation and
maintenance, as well as decommissioning and recycling). The specific
objective is to establish a strategic platform to promote technology
innovation, industry development and entrepreneurship systematically not
only in Barbados but also in the wider Caribbean market.
