Government of Guyana, CARICOM Development Fund ink US$18M Agricultural Agreement

The Government of Guyana and the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) yesterday signed a US$18 million financing agreement to kickstart the Agricultural and Infrastructural Development Programme (AIDP), which will see over 4,300 farmers across the ten regions of Guyana benefitting, with forty per cent of the beneficiaries being women and youth. The programme will allow for a further boost to Guyana’s agriculture sector in the form of support for compliance with food safety, sanitary and phytosanitary standards in the sector.

Flagship clean energy dialogue to be held in Grenada

The Ninth Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (CSEF IX) will be held in Grenada, 28-30 October 2025.

CSEF is the biennial flagship regional platform for high-level clean energy dialogue. This year, it is being organised by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat and the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE) in collaboration with the Government of Grenada.

CARIFORUM Team Supports EPA Implementation in Barbados

July Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government to focus on security, food systems, climate change, geopolitics – CARICOM SG

The upcoming Forty-Ninth Meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government will place emphasis on improving regional security, enhancing food and nutrition security and combatting climate change, CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett, said.

The Meeting convenes 6-8 July, in Montego Bay, Jamaica, with Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, as the Chair. Prime Minister Holness assumes the six-month rotating Chairmanship of the Community on 1 July 2025.

Jamaica’s six-month chairmanship of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which begins on 1 July 2025, will place emphasis on youth as the architects of the future, Prime Minister Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness has announced.

In a special message ahead of the Forty-ninth Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, which will be held in Montego Bay, Jamaica, 6-8 July, Prime Minister Holness zeroed in on the youth of the Region who account for nearly 60 per cent of the Region’s populace.
