CARICOM joins Suriname’s celebration of its 46th Independence Anniversary

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has congratulated the Government and People of Suriname on the country’s Forty-Sixth Anniversary of Independence which it celebrates on 25 November 2021.

CARICOM Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett, in a congratulatory message to the President of Suriname HE Chandrikapersad Santokhi noted that:

“Suriname has made remarkable progress in those 46 years, which is the result of hard work by a resolute people in their quest for growth, sustainable development and the well-being of the country.”

“CARICOM is pleased to join in your celebration and I reaffirm my own commitment and that of my staff to working alongside the government and people of your country for the continued progress of Suriname,” the Secretary-General said.
