TWO-DAY MONTSERRAT- CARICOM-UK TALKS END
The meeting involving the Government of Montserrat, the Caribbean Community Secretariat and United Kingdom Government representatives ended in Montserrat today reaffirming their commitment to Montserrat's continued participation in CARICOM and its organs.
The two-day talks were undertaken in a spirit of friendship with all agreeing to move forward together in harmony to accomplish the objective of ensuring Montserrat's continued full membership in CARICOM.
EIGHT CARICOM PROPOSALS SUCCESSFUL AT SIXTH MEETING OF GLOBAL FUND TO FIGHT AIDS, TUBERCULOSIS AND MALARIA (GFATM)
Eight CARICOM proposals were approved by the Board of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) at its Sixth Meeting, which runs from 15-17 October 2003, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The successful proposals are from Guyana and Haiti, two each; Belize, Jamaica, the OECS and the Pan Caribbean Partnership against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP), one proposal each.

The Ninth Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) was convened in Georgetown, Guyana on 8-10 October 2003, under the Chairmanship of the Hon. Lawrence Achong, Minister of Labour and Small and Micro-Enterprise Development, Trinidad and Tobago.
