A very pleasant good morning to you. It is my pleasure to make these brief opening remarks on behalf of the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General of CARICOM and to welcome you to Guyana and the Inaugural Meeting of the Regional ICT Steering Committee.

SPECIAL COTED TO CONSIDER REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community’s (CARICOM) vision for a single regional airline is among key agenda items for the Twenty-Second Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development scheduled for 21-22 May 2007 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to address regional transportation matters.

CARICOM TAKES CRITICAL STEP TOWARDS INFORMATION SOCIETY

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Regional Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Steering Committee has identified a number of areas for immediate focus towards the development of the Caribbean Information Society (CARIB-IS).
