GOVERNMENTS CANNOT DO IT ALONE - JAMES MOSS-SOLOMON

ST. KITTS AND NEVIS GUNNING FOR CARICOM QUIZ CHAMPIONSHIPS

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) As the CARICOM Regional Quiz Competition moves into its first leg of the Zonal Round, St Kitts and Nevis will be making its second bid for the championship trophy which was wrested from them in 2004 by Guyana.

ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES EYEING THE CARICOM QUIZ TROPHY

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater, Georgetown) St Vincent and the Grenadines will be hosting the first Zonal Round of the (Caribbean Community) CARICOM Regional Quiz Competition scheduled for 12-13 June 2008 at the Anglican Pastoral Centre, New Montrose, while Trinidad and Tobago will be hosting the second, on 17-18 June at the National Library in Port-of-Spain.

GIVE AGRICULTURE AN EQUAL CHANCE, SAYS PRESIDENT JAGDEO

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)  The CARICOM Agriculture Investment Forum got underway with calls for Caribbean governments to create a better environment for investors and bankers, and the private sector in general, to inject the necessary resources to boost the agriculture industry and ensure food security in the Region.

SECRETARY-GENERAL CALLS FOR MORE INVESTMENT IN AGRICULTURE

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) H.E. Edwin Carrington Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) said the Region needed to change the general unfavourable investment climate for agriculture, relative to other economic sectors.

Investment in the agriculture sector, he said was central to the achievement of the primary objective of the CARICOM’s Agricultural Policy.
