St Vincent and the Grenadines hosts Regional Conference on Reparations

Caribbean HIV/AIDS Partnership Named Global Best Practice By CARICOM and UNAIDS

(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) Monday, 13 December 2004 is a significant day for the Caribbean region in its fight against HIV/AIDS. On this day, the joint CARICOM/UNAIDS Secretariat publication: Common Goals, Shared Responses: A Case Study on the Pan-Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS - PANCAP will be launched at the Half Moon Hotel, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. This launch signals the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP) being officially designated an "international best practice" by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

CARICOM and Cuba look to active role in post 2015 Agenda talks at the UN

CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     The Caribbean should take an active role at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) debate on the post 2015 Agenda.
This was the view expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guyana the Honourable Caroline Rodrigues-Birkett as she addressed the Opening Ceremony in Grenada of the Fourth Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Cuba on Thursday evening. The discussions take place on Friday.

I wish to thank the Government and People of Grenada for their warm hospitality and join my colleagues in echoing appreciation for being in Grenada today among great company.  As we gather on the eve of the Fourth CARICOM-Cuba Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, there are several events that are occurring at the national, regional, hemispheric, and global levels that are guaranteed to usher in changes that will require our countries to adapt to the ever evolving geopolitical environment. 

Valiant International Effort To Resolve Syrian Crisis

Allow me to begin by expressing my appreciation for the warm Spice Island welcome that has been extended to all delegations since our arrival in Grenada for the Fourth Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CARICOM and Cuba. It has undoubtedly set a pleasant tone for a fruitful discussion between friends.

CARICOM and Cuba Foreign Ministers get together in Grenada

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and Cuba will hold discussions on advancing cooperation on developmental issues between the two sides on Friday 6 September in Grenada. A special retreat of CARICOM’s Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR), preceded Friday’s meeting.
