INVITATION | Opening Ceremony -Twenty-Eighth Regular Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR)

(Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - The Twenty-Eighth Regular Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) will take place 8-9 May 2025. Saint Kitts and Nevis will assume chairmanship of the Council.

The Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Economic Development and Investment of Saint Kitts and Nevis will chair the meeting.

Sir Molwyn Joseph, Chair of the 118th Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED), delivered the keynote address at the opening of the meeting in Antigua and Barbuda, 29 April 2025. Sir Molwyn chaired in his capacity as Minister of Health, Wellness, the Environment and Civil Service Affairs of Antigua and Barbuda.

Message of Condolence on the passing of Hayden Blades

Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Turkeyen, Georgetown, Guyana - The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat is saddened at the passing of Hayden Blades of Barbados, a former regional public servant.

Mr. Blades contributed immensely to several key regional institutions, including the CARICOM Secretariat, where he served for more than twenty years, including as Director for Trade, Agriculture, Export Promotion, and Air and Sea Transportation.

CARICOM Ambassadors in New York Discuss Haiti Crisis with UN Secretary General Guterres

(Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) - The members of the Caucus of CARICOM Ambassadors to the United Nations (UN) met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, on May 1 to express their concerns about the deteriorating situation in Haiti and to explore ways to continue to support the country as it attempts to stem armed violence and restore constitutional authority.
