Justice Minister reinforces Jamaica’s commitment to human rights protection
The promotion, protection, and enhancement of human rights in Jamaica was a primary consideration of the current Government“, Jamaica’s Minister of Justice, the Hon. Delroy Chuck said Tuesday.
To this extent, all fundamental rights were guaranteed by the Constitution and they would be upheld, the Minister added. He cautioned though that there had to be awareness that “from time to time there are challenges, even when there are safeguards and this Government will not sit on its laurels and allow these fundamental rights to be breached”.
