(PANCAP Coordinating Unit, CARICOM Secretariat) The Pan-Caribbean Partnership against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) has collaborated with the Integral Orientation and Research Center/Centro de Orientación e Investigación Integral (COIN) to facilitate a learning exchange focused on Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and successful HIV testing strategies for key populations to access prevention and treatment.
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Feb 17, CMC - The Caribbean Community Administrative Tribunal (CCAT) was launched here on Monday with the President of the Trinidad-based Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ), Adrian Saunders saying it represents the region’s commitment to upholding the rule of law.
Justice Saunders, who is also the chairman of the Regional Judicial and Legal Services Commission, sworn in the five member CCAT that will be based in Trinidad.

Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, will travel to Bridgetown, Barbados to participate in the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to build even stronger ties with the region.The Conference will be held 17-18 February 2020.

Health Ministers and Officials of the Region have agreed to draft an aggressive communications strategy to combat misinformation on the Novel Coronavirus.
The Region’s Health Ministers will hold an emergency meeting on Monday 3 February on the novel Coronavirus which the World Health Organisation has now classified as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
The novel Coronavirus outbreak which originated in Wahun City, Hubei Province, China, started in December 2019 and, up to this week about eight thousand cases have been laboratory-confirmed globally, with eighty-two cases confirmed outside of China.

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has extended sympathy to the Government and people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on the death of the country’s former Governor-General, Sir Frederick Ballantyne.
Sir Frederick, who served as Governor General from 2002 to July 2019, died last Thursday at the age of 83.
