Roosevelt Skerrit wants the operations of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the Haiti recovery and reconstruction efforts to be stream-lined, and has called on the United Nations to assist in doing so.

The Meeting will be formally opened on Sunday 4 July at the Half Moon Hotel in Montego Bay. The Conference Venue is the Rose Hall Resort and Spa, A Hilton Resort.
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ministerial Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) has given its support to a proposal for Haiti to have non-reciprocal access to the Community’s markets for some goods for a period of three years.
The COTED meeting ended in Georgetown on Friday and Chair of the two-day Meeting, Senator the Honourable Joanne Massiah, Minister of State in the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Antigua and Barbuda, lauded the magnanimous gesture of Member States.

Some 80 international delegations met at the resort of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic on 2 June for the World Summit on the Future of Haiti, to recommit to the country’s recovery and reconstruction, following the catastrophic earthquake of 12 January.
BRADES, Montserrat -- Daniel Joseph of Lavabits, a software development firm on Montserrat was one of the featured presenters at the Caribbean ICT Roadshow BVI, which began on Tortola on Sunday, 16 May.
Joseph is part of a trio of young nationals who began the company last December to develop software for the global market. Daniel and his brother Samuel, along with Manish Valechha launched the company to provide real world solutions to the marketplace and to show that it could be done from Montserrat.
MANDEVILLE, Jamaica (JIS) -- As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) will be staging a regional Caribbean Information and Communication Technology (ICT) road show.
The Jamaica leg of the road show was launched on Wednesday under the theme, 'Harnessing the power of innovation - the engine for ICT-enabled Caribbean Development'.
Subsequent to earlier information, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat has learnt that four delegates who were attending the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Aviation Safety and Security Oversight System (CASSOS), in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, have not been accounted for.
The delegates include a national of Saint Lucia, a national of Trinidad and Tobago and two nationals of the Netherlands Antilles.

Patterson, Special Representative of the CARICOM Heads of Government on Haiti, is in Haiti as part of follow-up activities to the International Donor Conference: ‘Towards a New Future for Haiti’ held in New York last month. The Donor Conference, held at the United Nations Headquarters on 31 March, raised US$9.9B for Haiti’s reconstruction.
