Madame Chair, Heads of Government, the scope of our Agenda illustrates the breadth of issues which we, as a Community, must address to further consolidate our integration and to position ourselves advantageously in an increasingly complex and challenging global arena.

CARICOM Heads to tackle wide-ranging agenda at Barbados Meeting

Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Heads of Government meet in Barbados, 18-19 February 2020, with issues ranging from current public health concerns to strengthening ties with Africa before them.  The Heads of Government are also expected to have an exchange of views with the Prime Minister of Canada Mr. Justin Trudeau.

PRESS RELEASE ON THE CARIBBEAN COMMUNITY ADMINISTRATIVE TRIBUNAL (CCAT)

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has established a Caribbean Community Administrative Tribunal (CCAT).  The CCAT will be launched at a ceremony to be held on Monday, 17 February 2020 at the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) Headquarters in Barbados, at which the Members of the Tribunal will be sworn in.

CARICOM Heads of Government approved the establishment of the Tribunal at their Thirtieth Inter-Sessional Meeting in St. Kitts and Nevis in February 2019. 

I AM CARICOM’ Campaign showcased at Guyana’s Diplomatic Fair

(CARICOM Secretariat 7 February 2020) Youths were among the many spectators who reflected on what it meant to be a part of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), when the ‘I AM CARICOM’ Campaign (#IamCARICOM) was showcased at the Diplomatic Fair on 31 January 2020, at the Jubilee Park, Georgetown, Guyana.

CARICOM Chairman engages key stakeholders during Guyana visit

CARICOM Chairman, Prime Minister Mia Mottley of Barbados, paid a visit to Guyana on Monday during which, among other things, she engaged CARICOM Secretariat staff and was awarded the Order of Roraima by the President of Guyana.

The Chairman was met on arrival in Guyana by Foreign Minister Dr Karen Cummings and CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque.
