Guyana’s investment in HIV/AIDS battle paying off- NAPS Director
Guyana’s prevalence rate of HIV has increased but that now indicates that more people are living rather than dying of the disease due to aggressive public education and greater access to treatment and care, Head of the National AIDS Programme Secretariat, Dr. Shanti Singh said.
PANCAP Partners Collaborate on Development of Operational Plan

Representatives from regional support agencies within the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) met 24 and 25 July to develop the first biennial operational plan for the implementation of the 2014-2018 Caribbean Regional Strategic Framework (CRSF) on HIV and AIDS, designed to pave the way for an AIDS-free Caribbean.
SASOD Honoured with 2014 Red Ribbon Award

PANCAP Shocked and Saddened by Loss of Colleagues on Flight MH17
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV and AIDS (PANCAP) says it is deeply saddened that a number of great friends in the fight against HIV may have been lost in the devastating crash of Malaysia flight MH17 last week.

Haiti, Turks and Caicos Close to Signing MoU on Migration Issues
The Turks and Caicos Islands and Haiti are close to signing a memorandum of understanding to deal with the continued problem of irregular migration from Haiti to the TCI, according to Minister of Border Control and Labour Ricardo Gardiner.
Speaking at the 2014 budget address, the Minister said the two sides had produced the final draft of a memorandum of understanding and “will be signed shortly.”
Progression of the pact is being facilitated by the office of Turks and Caicos Governor Peter Beckingham, he said, but “is being driven from my office.”

PAHO and UNAIDS Convene Meetings in Georgetown
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in adolescents and youth across the region was a major agenda item when the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) convened a three-day meeting in Georgetown last week. The meeting also examined plans to move the region forward towards the elimination of mother-to-child transmission (EMTCT) of HIV and congenital syphilis.
PM Douglas defends PANCAP’s Justice For All programme
ST. JOHN’S, ANTIGUA, JULY 3RD 2014 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has defended the “Justice for All” programme of the Pan Caribbean Partnership Against HIV/AIDS (PANCAP), saying it was not designed to encourage a re-order of the Caribbean society in a negative way.
The Board of CRN+ Pledges its Continued Commitment to People Living with HIV
