Celebrating Girls in ICT on 24 April

Girls in ICT, Building CARICOM’ is the theme guiding the Community's celebration of International Girls in ICT Day on 24 April. The Day is an annual observance led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to encourage girls and young women to pursue careers in information and communication technologies (ICT) and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEM/STEAM).  

International Women's Day 2025: For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment

On Saturday, 8 March, the CARICOM Secretariat will join the world to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025, themed “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment."

As part of the celebration, the Secretariat is pleased to highlight the stories of two incredible women who have overcome challenges to make indelible contributions to health sector development and food security.

Redouble efforts to champion digital gender equality - CARICOM SG

  In the face of the widening digital gender gap, Dr. Carla Barnett, CARICOM Secretary-General has called for a redoubling of efforts to champion digital gender equality initiatives in the Region. She also recommended a reinforced determination to amplify the voices of women and girls in the ICT sector.

CARICOM Gender Equality Strategy Aims To Fulfil Vision Of Protection And Economic Empowerment Of Women, Equitable Access To Education And Healthcare For All

Monday, 20 November 2023 (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown):  Ministers responsible for gender affairs and equality from CARICOM Member States and Associate Members are currently reviewing the draft CARICOM Gender Equality Strategy, “Stepping It Up: A Strategy to Achieve Gender Equality in the Caribbean Community”, during the Forty-Sixth Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) – Gender.  The Meeting, which is being convened on 20-21 November 2023 in Barbados, reaffirms Member States
