University of Guyana students tour Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation Plant at CARICOM Secretariat

Students from the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the  University of Guyana toured the CARICOM Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation Plant on the grounds of the CARICOM Secretariat on Friday, 8 November.

The group was the first of four cohorts of tertiary-level students who will tour the Secretariat each Friday in November as part of the activities to observe CARICOM Energy Month 2024.

Statement from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on the Action by Israel to prevent UNRWA from Providing Humanitarian Assistance to Palestinian Refugees

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) expresses grave concern about the vote taken by the Israeli Knesset on Monday 28 October, 2024 to prohibit the humanitarian assistance provided to the people of Palestine by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine Refugees in the Near East . The Israeli action is a violation of International Law and the United Nations Charter.

The protection of civilians and the respect for human rights in all circumstances is sacrosanct.
