CYA attends UNESCO conference on youth and internet in Paris

The two-day event ,which was conducted in both English and French, brought together more than 250 officials, academics, policy-makers, youth NGO’s, experts and practitioners from a range of institutions and disciplines from across the world, to share experiences, highlight gaps and explore options in reducing the internet as a tool for youth extremism and radicalism.

CARICOM Youth Ambassadors attend Youth Ministers-Youth Leaders Forum

CARICOM Youth Ambassadors (CYAs) represented at the Caribbean Region Commonwealth Youth Ministers Meeting  and Youth Leaders Forum,  in Antigua and Barbuda, April 28th -30th.

The meeting is mulling on major youth-related issues including youth employment and entrepreneurship, participation in civic and political processes, the role of young people in peace building and the professionalizing the youth work sector.

Haiti’s Youth Ambassador Appeals To Cohsod: Let Us Rise And Re-build The Education System

CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Haiti’s CARICOM Youth Ambassador, Leticia Cadet, on Thursday, made an impassioned plea to the Caribbean Community to help re-build, as a matter of priority, the education system in Haiti.
At a special meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) in Paramaribo, Suriname, Ms Cadet recalled with obvious grief the devastation caused by the earthquake, which crippled Port-au-Prince on 12 January, leaving in its wake a climbing death toll of more than 200, 000.

CARICOM YOUTH AMBASSADORS RECEIVE CSME EDUCATION TRAINING

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) CARICOM Youth Ambassadors (CYAs) from across the Region met in Saint Lucia over the weekend to be updated on recent developments within the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), and to develop a regional framework for integrating sustainable livelihood into HIV/AIDS prevention projects.
