Crime and Security – a regional problem…  CARICOM SG tells Caribbean Youth Violence Prevention Summit

Caribbean Community, (CARICOM) Ambassador Irwin La Rocque, called for the full cooperation of all stakeholders within Member States to respond to the issue of crime and security, which he described as a regional problem that demands a regional solution.

“The multi-state, multi sectoral response to this challenge is vital for us to succeed in defeating it” [crime], the Secretary-General said.

National Drug Observatories critical to the fight against drugs in CARICOM

The critical importance of Drug Observatories (DOs) was underscored at the Opening of the Regional Seminar for Drug Observatories in the Caribbean on 4 April 2018, in Georgetown, Guyana. The importance of international cooperation and synergies in the fight against illicit drugs was emphasized also to the gathering mainly of Caribbean Community (CARICOM) practitioners, policy makers and researchers in the field.
