CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana - Friday, 8 March 2024: Officials from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) met from 4-6 March at the Community’s Headquarters in Georgetown, Guyana, to finalise a joint action plan for their cooperation.
CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett on Monday 5 September delivered the Second Distinguished Owen Arthur Memorial Lecture in Bridgetown, Barbados. The lecture was delivered under the theme 'The Future of CARICOM; Charting a Vision for the Region's Economic Advancement'.
It was organised by the the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, Shridath Ramphal Centre, and the Caribbean Development Bank.

The hosting of the Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA XIV) in August 2019 in Trinidad and Tobago is at the top of the agenda of the Twenty-Sixth Meeting of the Regional Cultural Committee (RCC) being held this week at the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana.
The Region’s cultural performers transformed the Kensington Oval in Barbados into a sea of Regional integration as they brought the curtains down on CARIFESTA XIII, Sunday night. The Closing Ceremony for the ten-day festival featured performances from some of the region’s top music and dance groups, steel bands, and individual artistes, while delegates and patrons partied to the regional cultural mix.
The Caribbean Region’s premier festival was declared open by Barbados Culture Minister, the Hon. Stephen Lashley at a ceremony held at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown. Prime Minister of Barbados, the Right Hon.
More than 66 artists, spearheaded by the Canadian-Caribbean Arts Network (C-CAN), are heading to Barbados for CARIFESTA XIII which opens later this week, the TorontoCaribbean media outfit has reported.
“I am still pinching myself because at one point in time I had given up hope that it would ever happen,” confessed Rhoma Spencer, Artistic Director of C-CAN as she sat down for an interview at the Black Artists’ Networks Dialogue art gallery following a special meeting.
