CARICOM Finance Ministers tackle growth and development

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Finance Ministers of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) reviewed a range of economic and financial issues at the Fifteenth Meeting of CARICOM’s Council for Finance and Planning (COFAP) at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday.

Finance ministers meet in Trinidad and Tobago

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Finance Ministers will meet on Wednesday 7 August in Trinidad and Tobago within the framework of the Fifteenth Meeting of the Council for Finance and Planning (COFAP).

COFAP TO DISCUSS DEVELOPMENT FUND

  (CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Council for Finance and Planning (COFAP) will convene on Friday 19 May in Montego Bay, Jamaica for its Third Special Meeting.

The Council is expected to discuss the operalisation of the regional Development Fund which was established to address imbalances across disadvantaged countries, regions and sectors within the operation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

JAMAICA PLEDGES TO DEVELOPMENT FUND

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) Jamaica, on Tuesday at the Second Special Meeting of the Council for Finance and Planning (COFAP), joined Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago in making an initial pledge to the regional Development Fund. Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago had made initial pledges last December at the First Special Meeting of COFAP.

CARICOM FINANCE MINISTERS MEET IN JAMAICA

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) With three weeks to go before the launch of the CARICOM Single Market on 1 January 2006, Finance Ministers of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will meet in Kingston, Jamaica on Monday 12 December to finalise plans for the operation of a critical element of the Single Market.

COFAP DELIBERATES ON SINGLE ECONOMY FRAMEWORK

(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana) Progress reports on the harmonisation of a range of Instruments required to complement and give effect to the macro-economic policy framework for the Single Economy were considered by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ministers attending the Tenth Meeting of CARICOM's Council for Finance and Planning (COFAP) in Georgetown on Saturday 21 May. The Single Economy is one arm of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) with the other being the Single Market.

REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR CONSIDERATION AT COFAP MEETING

(CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana)     The Tenth Meeting of the Caribbean Community's (CARICOM) Council For Finance and Planning (COFAP) will be convened in Georgetown on Saturday 21 May, with the stabilisation and transformation of CARICOM economies topping the agenda for discussions.
