CARICOM Continues Advocacy For Increased Support From The International Community To Haiti

The Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR), at its recent meeting in Saint Kitts and Nevis, reaffirmed CARICOM's support for Haiti, the Good Offices Role through the Eminent Persons Group (EPG), and the Community's continued advocacy for increased assistance from the international community.
In the video, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, Sen. The Hon. Kamina Johnson-Smith elaborates on the engagement of the United Nations on Haiti, the role the EPG continues to play in supporting political dialogue, and the need for the international community to increase humanitarian, financial, and human resource aid to Haiti.
The new Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the United Nations, Vynnette Frederick, presented her credentials to UN Secretary-General António Guterres today.
Haiti continues to hurt. The cycle of depredations and violence of the armed gangs continues, expanding to new areas and adding to the already high number of victims.
