Barbados Public Sector exposed to Community Public Procurement Notice Board

Approximately fifty public sector officers in Barbados were this week shown processes on the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Public Procurement Electronic Notice Board. The engagement was held on Monday and Tuesday, 12-13 November and was geared towards assisting the procuring entities across the public sector and state-owned public sector organisations to initiate use of their National Advertising Portal to publish procurement opportunities and contract award notices.

Green Climate Fund affirms its partnership with CDB

(Caribbean Development Bank Press Release) – The Green Climate Fund and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) on Friday signed a legal agreement to open doors for more climate finance projects in the Caribbean Region.

The signing of the Accreditation Master Agreement (AMA) took place on the margins of the Green Climate Fund’s Caribbean Structured Dialogue meeting in Grenada, and which brought together regional stakeholders to plan climate action across the Caribbean Region.

Regional health ministers approve plan regarding climate change on SIDS On Oct 19, 2018

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – Caribbean health and environment ministers ended a two-day meeting here approving a plan of action to ensure that the health of those living in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) is protected and prioritized within the global climate change agenda.

“Just as we bring climate change to the heart of the health sector, we must work to bring health to the heart of climate change discussions. We believe this action plan is an important step in that direction,” said the director of the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), Dr. Carissa F. Etienne.”

Singapore keen on sharing development experience with CARICOM

Singapore has said it is happy to share its development experience with the Caribbean Community, as the country’s second Ambassador to CARICOM  was accredited Wednesday. Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque accepted the Letters of Credence of Her Excellency Karen Tan, Plenipotentiary Representative of Singapore to CARICOM, at the Secretariat’s Headquarters in Georgetown Guyana. United States, Belize Sign Open Skies Air Transport Agreement

(US Department of State Press Release)Today the United States and Belize signed a new Air Transport Agreement. This Open Skies Agreement expands the two countries’ already strong commercial and economic ties by facilitating greater air travel and commerce.
