A workshop highlighting the main achievements of the Austrian Development Agency’s (ADA) support and to mark the end of the ADA Project component was held in the Dominican Republic on 5 March 2013 at the Office of the National Energy Commission (CNE).

TThe CREDP-GIZ Project benefited from support to tune 0.75 Million Euros which was added to the pool of resources available for supporting sustainable energy development in CARICOM. The main focus of the support was for the installation of infrastructure type projects in the form of pilots. In CARICOM, the following Projects benefited from support under the ADA’s contribution, viz i) Solar PV Demo Project in Guyana at the Guyana Energy Agency; ii) Efficient LED Street Lighting Project in St. Vincent and Grenadines; iii) Energy Efficiency retrofit to Hospital in Saint Lucia and iv) Solar PV installation at the Office of the Prime Minister in Antigua and Barbuda. Support was also provided for solar PV installation at the National Energy Commission in Dominican Republic. The workshop facilitated the consolidation of important lessons which will further inform sustainable energy implementation in CARICOM.
