A warm and exciting arrival ceremony set the tone for the much anticipated CARICOM-US Summit at the UWI Regional Headquarters, , Kingston, Jamaica on Thursday 9 April 2015.
Host Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller was joined by the CARICOM Chairman, Prime Minister Perry Christie of The Bahamas and CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque to welcome the full CARICOM Team. The welcome party was then joined by the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the UWI Professor Nigel Harris and the incoming Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hillary Browne to welcome the United States President.
Economic competitiveness, energy and security were the key issues for discussion during the business session of the summit.
