BRIDGETOWN, Barbados - Despite challenges in the past, the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus has excelled in a half century. The 50th Anniversary Interfaith Thanksgiving service was one of celebration as the institution was lauded for its achievements. Bishop of Barbados and Archbishop of the West Indies, The Most Rev. Dr. The Hon. John Holder, said that the campus acts as a guiding light and as such it is committed to a way of excellence and growth; “ Thank God for the great work.” “Today we celebrate the fact [that] dreams of our forefathers and foremothers are being realised in full measure at the University of the West Indies,” said Vice-Chancellor Professor E. Nigel Harris. He said that we celebrate the contributions made by graduates to local, regional and global development in all areas and sectors. He stated, “We celebrate in full measure the fact that despite some forces that have tried to tear us apart, our university continues with the support of our diverse regional people.”
