CARICOM NEW YORK, CMC –United Nations Secretary General Bank Ki-moon Monday praised the regional integration movement, CARICOM, for its work in shaping the future of the Caribbean. Addressing the seventh general meeting of the CARICOM, its associated institutions and the United Nations, Ban said that the 15-member grouping had demonstrated the strength of a united voice and a common vision in shaping the region’s future. “At the United Nations, we are grateful for your leadership across the range of our work. CARICOM countries have been pioneers in raising the world’s awareness on climate change and the unique challenges of Small Island Developing States.”
