PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – 31-year-old Ravindra Ramrattan was cremated here on Tuesday, more than a week after he was murdered during the attack on the Westgate Shopping Mall in Niarobi by Shabab militants. At least 68 other people were killed during the attack.
President Anthony Carmona led the dignitaries, including several government ministers as well as relatives, who attended the funeral service for the Trinidadian, who was employed as a research economist in the African country.
“He was snatched away by cowards. This can happen to anyone, even in Trinidad. Wars are fought with equals, who have the same type of weapons. I am sure if those individuals did not have weapons he would have challenged them. They have destroyed his body but not his soul,” said Pundit Amar Seepersad, who officiated at the funeral service conducted under Hindu rites.
